You Suck at Parking

It’s a pretty audacious title to have for a game. First, it makes the pronoun “you,” rather than “we” or “they.” You suck at parking! Second, it claims that you already suck at parking, even though you haven’t even played the game.
And yet, I have to admit, true to the name of the game, I suck at parking.
You Suck at Parking is basically a game where you control a car, and your goal is to get it parked in the desiginated area.
XEL: Between a Rock and a Hard Place

The developers of XEL make a bold claim that it’s a Zelda-like action RPG. You play as a female protagonist who ends up crash landing on a 3D sci-fi planet. She has no collection of who she is or why she’s there. She doesn’t even know her own name. The goal in XEL is to find out more about this girl’s mysterious past, as you explore the world in which she lands.
SokoChess: A Game of Chess…With a Twist!

Ever wanted to enhance the game of Chess with new elements? That’s where SokoChess comes in. It combines Chess with Sokoban – the latter of which involves pushing crates to their proper destination. You have Chess pieces to move, but your goal is to push the black pieces to their destination, without them overtaking yours. The game is made with the awesome open-source Godot engine, and there’s a native Linux version available that plays great!
Trolley Problem, Inc. - A Moral Dilemma

Five people are trapped on a train track. A train is coming and the only way you can prevent those five people from getting killed is by pulling a lever. That lever will cause the train to go onto another track, but the problem there is that track has one person trapped on it. What do you do? Will you let the train go to its default route, killing five, or pull the lever and let it take the alternative way and kill one?
HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed - Action Figures with Guns

As a kid, I loved the original Toy Story animated movie. Fast forward almost 30 years later, and I find myself reliving that toy-figures-come-to-life nostalgia, albeit in a more mature setting with guns.
HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed is a first- and third-person shooter where you’re in control of a toy action figure. That action figure could be a Ryu look-alike, a reptile, a Storm Trooper look-alike, an insect, a standard human, and plenty of other species.
Tunic - Zelda With a Side of Dark Souls

Tunic is an isometric, Zelda-like game that was in development for some seven years. Most of the development of the game, including programming, 3D modeling, and map design, was all done by one guy: Andrew Shouldice. Andrew would later recruit other team members to help with the music and sound effects.
Tunic released a few weeks ago on Steam and Xbox. Here’s my thoughts.
You play as an adorable Fox, clothed in green garb (a nod to Link in the Zelda series).
Kirby and the Forgotten Land: An Unforgotten Experience

Time to shake things up a bit and talk about a Nintendo Switch game: Kirby and the Forgotten Land. If you prefer Linux-exclusive news, just let me know in the comments. But do note I played the entirety of this game on Linux, thanks to Ryujinx.
Haven’t played a Kirby game in a long time. I think the last one I played was Kirby Air Ride for the GameCube. Something struck out to me when I was watching the trailer for this game though.
Itorah - Good Ol’ Metroidvania Goodness, with a Few Quirks

Itorah is a metroidvania-style platformer developed by Grimbart Tales and published by Assemble Entertainment. You’re in control of a purple-haired girl who has the same name as the title of the game. She can’t talk, but her axe sure can. If you’ve played Indivisible, this game is a lot like that.
Itorah is the only human being left in the world of Nahucan. Everyone else is an animal or a masked organism.
Project Heartbeat - A Rhythm-Based Game with Anime Characters

Ever play Project Diva? You’ll feel right at home with Project Heartbeat. It’s a rhythm-based game with a heavy anime theme. Big plus for those of you who are anime fans.
Please note that the game is currently in early access at the time of writing this; what is said in this review may not be reflective of the changes in the final product. Some things I mention may already be things the developer has in mind for a future update.
