GLIBC-EAC – Get Your EAC-Enabled Games to Run on Arch/Steam Deck Again

So, those GLIBC developers…they have a tendancy of breaking things related to anti-cheat (particularly EAC). So much so that even Valve’s own Pierre-Loup Griffais had complained about it, mentioning that this “contributes to damaging the idea of desktop Linux as a viable target for third-party developers.”
If you’re on Arch Linux on desktop, or you’re using the Steam Deck, you might not be able to get certain games with EAC to run anymore, because both platforms updated to the latest version of GLIBC.
GLIBC 2.36 Breaks EAC – Don’t Upgrade

glibc, or the GNU C Library, has recently been updated to 2.36. While this release does contain quite a few bug fixes, it’s also created others. For gamers in particular, it appears that this update has caused a regression with games that use Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC). That means MultiVersus, Elden Ring, Apex Legends, and any other game that uses EAC (depending on the version being used) will no longer work on Deck or on Linux via Proton.
