GE-Proton7-16 Released, Adds Video Playback Updates and Fixes Crash in Elden Ring

A few days ago, GE-Proton7-16 was released. Not too much going on in this update, but a patch was added to fix a crash in Elden Ring when playing said game with fsync. Video playback updates, as well as Steam client updates, have been fetched from upstream Proton. Of course tools like dxvk and vkd3d-proton have also been updated to the latest git.

SteamTinkerLaunch Version 10 Released, Adds Initial Steam Deck Support and More Gamescope Options

SteamTinkerLaunch – the massive Swiss army knife when it comes to managing your Proton-based games on Steam – hit a new milestone with the release of version 10, codenamed “Bagatelle.” One major feature that was added is initial Steam Deck support. Though the script doesn’t get installed as a Flatpak, you can simply download the steamtinkerlaunch script from the project’s GitHub and start it as deck user. You can actually navigate across the different options with the Deck’s built-in controls.
Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS Released – Switch to PipeWire, Hyrbid Light and Dark Backgrounds, Automatic Updates, and Plenty More!

Pop!_OS – the Ubuntu-powered distro created by none other than the geniuses at System76 – has just released 22.04 LTS (long-term support), shortly after the release of Ubuntu 22.04. There’s quite a few exciting things going on with this release, so let’s go over the changes.
Software Upgrades As far as base upgrades are concerned, the kernel is using 5.16.19 (kind of surprised they didn’t go with 5.17), Mesa drivers have been upgraded to version 22, and the desktop environment is based off of GNOME 42 with System76’s COSMIC UX spinoff.
GE-Proton7-15 Released, Enables Fall Guys Compatibility and Video Fixes for Several Titles

Following hot off the heels of the official Proton 7.0-2 release yesterday, the developer of GE-Proton has followed up with GE-Proton7-15. Included in this release is a few protonfixes for State of Decay 2 and Fall Guys. The former no longer crashes, and now apparently the Fall Guys EAC works on Proton! You no longer have to apply those weird tweaks anymore.

Proton 7.0-2 Now Official, Adds More Compatible Games and Dozens of Bug Fixes
Earlier this month Proton 7.0-2 was available as a release candidate. Along with it came several bug fixes and games that are now playable on your Steam Deck. The official release is more or less the same thing as the release candidate, albeit for fixed rudder detection for Microsoft Flight Simulator and fixed video playback for Monster Train, Hardspace: Shipbreaker, Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, and Nine Sols. Lutris v0.5.10.1 Released, Improves Steam Deck Experience

Lutris – a universal launcher for your Steam games, your Epic games, your emulators, and so much more – version 0.5.10.1 was released today. Included in this release is improved Flatpak functionality; Steam, app and desktop shortcuts will launch with Flatpak when necessary. This is important for such devices as the Steam Deck, as the Steam Deck by default can only run Flatpaks outside of Steam. MangoHUD can now be shown or remain hidden with a simple toggle.
GE-Proton7-12 Out Now, Enables GameMode By Default

GE-Proton7-11 was released yesterday. This now automatically enables GameMode for any game run through this version. A user no longer needs to add gamemoderun %command% to their Steam launch options.
The release also comes with the usual updates to dxvk, vkd3d-proton, and dxvk-nvapi; they’re using the latest commits. Proton Experimental (bleeding edge wine build) has also been updated. Build-specific updates have been added from upstream Proton. Not too long after the release, a hotfix was added that allows New World to be run, since the EAC .
InfiniTime 1.9.0 Released, Adds New Watchface

The PineTime is a smartwatch powered by open-source firmware. One such popular firmware to run on the PineTime is InfiniTime.
This weekend, InfiniTime received a decently-sized update, codenamed “Limeberry”. This update includes a new terminal-themed watchface, the ability to turn Bluetooth on or off with the flip of a switch, improved notifications, improved heartrate measurements, an improved alarm clock, a few bug fixes, and a few other features. In addition, code has been cleaned up and integration with the InfiniSim simulator has been improved.
DXVK 1.10.1 Released, Adds Video Playback, Performance Improvements, and Bug Fixes
DXVK – a translation layer that converts Direct3D calls into Vulkan, and a major component of Valve’s Proton project – was recently updated this weekend to 1.10.1. This adds video playback support in a few Koei Tecmo games (particularly for the Atelier series and Nioh 2), and apparently supports the D3D11-based UI in the Windows version of Black Mesa (note that Black Mesa is natively available on Linux).
DXVK 1.10.1 also includes a series of bug fixes and improvements.
